Method The subject lies supine with the hips and knees fully extended and parallel. Using a tape measure, the examiner measures from the umbilicus to the most distal point of the medial malleolus. A difference of more than 1 cm is indicative of abnormal pelvis positioning. Significant discrepancies should be verified via radiology.
